A couple of weeks ago, our class was given the task of writing a spoken word poem and than presenting it in front of our class like a ordinary coffee house. Our teacher would supply us with food and drinks to make our coffee house seem more realistic and more entertaining. We had our coffee house today, and just about everyone in our class was able to present while others, either weren't present or had yet to finish their poem and they would have to present tomorrow. There wasn't really anything special about our coffee house, considering we really didn't care about how the class would be changed or what food was brought in. All we really cared about (from my point of view) was just getting this done and over without any form of issue. I had decided to partner up with a friend and make a poem on war, a pretty common, none to emotional topic for most. The rest of the class had decided to do very emotional and serious topics like bullying, depression, abuse, drugs and other topics along those lines. I have to say all the poems we're all well done considering some of us don't do poetry especially something like spoken word poetry. I believe that me and my partner did okay since we didn't really put a lot of power into our poem and we messed up on some lines. Other than that I'd  say that our spoken word poem went a okay, but the others we're really good. Due to the fact many used facial expressions, change of voice, memorization and arm movements making their spoken word poem all the better. By the end everyone other than two students went (the other two didn't finish on time so they're reading their poems tomorrow) today and it was a fun thing to do with poetry and I felt that we got to see peoples poetic view on things, so this pretty much sums up my view on our coffee house today.
