Many people tend to say that technology has made us secluded and awkward. I believe that they are wrong, for technology has actually made us more connected and social. Technology has been improving for many years now and will continue to do so even when our generation ends. Many people tend to say that technology has not done us any good and never will, and that's where their wrong. For, technology has allowed us to connect with people that we probably would have never talked to if not for technology. Technology has allowed us to communicate with family members in whole other city's countries, and continents. Technology has brought humanity together by the means of the internet, phone, and many more.

The internet is a technology that has brought many people closer together and for that reason it's a global phenomenon. For instance family members that couldn't talk to each other because of such a large distance are now able to send emails to each other using many various websites. They are also able to talk face to face with some websites and this is all thanks to technology. These websites are called social networking websites, these websites are mainly meant for socializing, in other words talking and communicating. The main social networking websites are called yahoo, twitter, Facebook and Skype which all rely on the internet. Without the internet many family members and friends would be split further apart since they wouldn't have any form of contact. Thanks to the internet we can still keep contact no matter where or how far they are, thus bringing us close together.

Now, not all social networking websites are all the same and some carry major differences than others. For instance Facebook is where you go to make friends and where you usually chat with random strangers, so in short form where you get meet new people and befriend them. While twitter is mainly a place where people just bring search for conversations they find interesting or talk to people with the same similarities as them. Facebook is also meant for people to interact for hours on end and keep on posting updates. While twitter is more of chatting for a few minutes than going onto another conversation and than moving onto another. All in all though these are both social websites that bring people together and meet people with the same interests. Without the internet none of this would be possible. Websites that are similar to Facebook are yahoo, Myspace, and facestar. While websites similar to twitter are tumbler, Skype, and daily booth.

Now let's go deeper into some of these social websites like Facebook. Facebook is a website that was originally meant for college students to connect and share a variety of information. Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckenburg while at Harvard University. By, 2006 anyone over the age of 13 with a email address could join Facebook. Currently there are over 1.1 billion people using Facebook, this means that there are over 1.1 billion people connected with each other having multiple conversations and meeting new friends, so they are all being connected and brought together by Facebook. Facebook isn't just a place where you just hold conversations, it also carry's many smaller features that connects people even more. For instance Facebook allows users to holds these things called events, which is a way for members to let friends know about upcoming events their community and to organize social gatherings.

Now you know that the internet does not seclude and make us socially awkward like most adults say. It in fact makes us more open and more social. Please comment and voice an opinion

A couple of weeks ago, our class was given the task of writing a spoken word poem and than presenting it in front of our class like a ordinary coffee house. Our teacher would supply us with food and drinks to make our coffee house seem more realistic and more entertaining. We had our coffee house today, and just about everyone in our class was able to present while others, either weren't present or had yet to finish their poem and they would have to present tomorrow. There wasn't really anything special about our coffee house, considering we really didn't care about how the class would be changed or what food was brought in. All we really cared about (from my point of view) was just getting this done and over without any form of issue. I had decided to partner up with a friend and make a poem on war, a pretty common, none to emotional topic for most. The rest of the class had decided to do very emotional and serious topics like bullying, depression, abuse, drugs and other topics along those lines. I have to say all the poems we're all well done considering some of us don't do poetry especially something like spoken word poetry. I believe that me and my partner did okay since we didn't really put a lot of power into our poem and we messed up on some lines. Other than that I'd  say that our spoken word poem went a okay, but the others we're really good. Due to the fact many used facial expressions, change of voice, memorization and arm movements making their spoken word poem all the better. By the end everyone other than two students went (the other two didn't finish on time so they're reading their poems tomorrow) today and it was a fun thing to do with poetry and I felt that we got to see peoples poetic view on things, so this pretty much sums up my view on our coffee house today.

The third year of Zugzwang has already come and passed in what felt like only days. The third year of Zugzwang wasn't all that different from the second year of Zugzwang other than the the major party bringing up a law about a dictatorship and me and my party running for prime minister. Sadly, the third year wasn't much better in deaths, for we still had around 10 deaths due to some corruption with the food. Thankfully just about everything else went a lot smoother considering the government was handling things okay.

Trading season for the third year was really chaotic and unorganized for half the time. The reason for this is that we had a lot of corruption with the food hex and many other hex's and not a lot of peoples hex's we're powered for instance the education hex's a necessity that was not powered. The big part of the corruption had to mainly deal with the food hex's since one of the sellers was only selling to a few , while one was demanding donations of $1000 if you wanted to buy some food. So, practically if you didn't have any form of money over a thousand dollars you couldn't get any food for your family and they all died. All in all it was really funny how unorganized and crazy trading season was.

This years house of commons was very interesting considering there we're only two party's "The Chewbacca Party", and the"" with the "" having the majority .There we're only for new laws passed the three were just edited laws, but the fourth law was very surprising.  For the last law brought up a point of changing the government from a democracy to a dictatorship with only five leaders, this law obviously surprised the people as well as my party (The Chewbacca Party) since this was the first time such  a thing was ever brought up in the house of commons and suggested. Luckily one of their own part member knew this was a very bad and unmoral thing to do so he and another opposing party member voted giving us the majority vote for democracy. This was really good for my party considering not many people trust the opposing party now.

This years court session was the biggest one we've had compared to the other ones, with a total of 6 court sessions. The reason for it being was due to the huge corruption that had happened over the food and with a couple of contracts being broken. The people who had sued over uncompleted contracts had successfully sued the guilty members, and those suing over corruption has not and will not happened since the accuse has passed away and the court session is now null void. All in all this court session was very intense at some moments while others we're not as interesting  but it was organized to an extant and not as immature as the second year.

So the third year of Zugzwang was very interesting  intense, and surprising at many times. I felt that people are going to start expecting to hear more about what the party's will do for them in the next election and vote in someone more trusting since i'm pretty sure that the majority party lost it's support after bringing up that law. Hopefully year 4 of Zugzwang will be just as intense and fun as this year.

War is more than mothers crying for lost sons and daughters
War is more than death and killing
War

It's an emotion, that is filled with our hate and rage
An emotion that we set free from a cage
To stop the pain
That has been locked up and chained
For war is where killing is accepted
And murder is condoned

War

where opposing sides aren't thought of as equals
and aren't thought of as humans
where those who were once brothers and sisters of love
now bloody themselves in each others hate
in a war they call civil
war

An inc
urable plague
That takes many, young and old
A disease that flows through our veins from the very beginning to the very end
And maybe when that end arrives we arrive at peace
War

It hungers for pain
Like a missile hitting a plane

Setting off pain
Like a bullet to the head
of an innocent man
War

A catastrophe of violence
Caused by men in suits
And fought by men in rags
Who barely make minimum wage
And barely make by on rent
War

Where justice flies out the window
Like a missile out a country
Into the unexpected populace

War it ain't pretty
So don't expect it to end in smiles and cheers
War, war never changes

Smoking is the main cause for lung cancer by increasing the chance of you getting lung cancer. I became interested in the question "Does smoking affect genders differently?" while watching the news channel Al Jazeera. On the program that was on they we're talking about how different genders are affected differently by smoking. By differently they mean who is more likely to get lung cancer  and they said that women we're more likely to get lung cancer from smoking than men. It was stated that women who smoked had a 19% higher chance of getting lung cancer. While males has 9% higher chance of getting lung cancer a 10% difference. Of course this is compared to non smokers, now on to people that have been smoking for more than 30 years or so. The scientist also stated that women who have been smoking for more than 30 years have a 50% higher chance of getting lung cancer 50% that's crazy. While for men who have been smoking for more than 30 years have a 35% higher chance of getting lung cancer once again a lower chance of getting lung cancer than women. Although not stated during the program why I decided to do a bit of searching on my own. I found out that women find it more difficult than men to quit smoking, and are also more likely to start smoking again even if they do quit. Although many doctors aren't quit sure why, women are far more affected by smoking than men. Other than that there wasn't much info for this reason it seems that doctors have been working on this for years and still haven't figured out the reason. So it will most likely take a lot more longer for them to figure out why women are more affected by smoking than men.

No one has the right to take away you're basic human rights and human needs. For instance in Palestine occupied areas many Palestinians are denied many basic human rights and are treated like scum everyday. Many Israeli people don't see Palestinians as humans, considering they always attack their homes, make fun of them, take their homes and land, kill them just for talking back, and are assaulted everyday just for being Muslim! Now I understand why they may hate some Muslim country's like Iran who spew hate at Israel but come on it doesn't mean all Muslims are like that those type of people aren't even real Muslims. But it seems that the Israel people don't care and just keep on hurting innocents. Why do they act like this did they not learn from WW2 that you shouldn't be racist and discriminate considering what happened to them. But no, it seems they don't care and I don't think they'll learn for a while hopefully they'll understand the wrong that they are doing and cease these atrocious acts. I truly do hope that the UN will see what Israel is doing is wrong and try to persuade them in giving back their disputed territories back considering that they have token it for them selves. In the end though I truly doubt that anything will change and that Israel won't realize until someone says enough is enough and tells them directly that what they are doing is wrong. Please post a comment voicing you're opinion on the situation.

The video "Generation Jobless" brought many important facts about careers and the future for our generation. How we may not even get a job when graduating from a prestige University/College, but we may even have a lower chance of getting hired! Canada has one of the best education systems in the world, but we have a high youth unemployment.
The reason behind this was stated in the video, and that reason was lack of job experience. It seems that getting a diploma doesn't mean as much as it use to and that it's harder to to find a job in your career path. Many people do not realize this especially the older generation who call us the lost generation. The older generations are also the cause of our plight considering they are still taking our needed jobs to pay off their debt and mortgage which they should have done in their time. This has become even worst since it seems that the government increasing the age of retirement. Which will cause the older generation to seek out jobs and will find them easier than us considering that many employers are looking for more job experienced employees.  It just shows how bad people are in need of jobs especially when we have to compete with a generation that has more experience than us the younger generation.
Not all Country's are facing what we are, for instance Sweden. Sweden has an unemployment rate of just 2.6% in all of Sweden that's amazing. Sweden has made up in their lack of resources with their young generation and guiding them into a better job filled future. They are able to choose whether to go to a apprenticeship or just study for University, but they are still able to go to University even if they lose interest in what they're doing at it would barely affect them since they already have hands on experience. Sadly Canada's education system is not like this and doesn't allow such flexibility.
For me when watching this video it really got me thinking and wondering what the future holds for our generation and if we'll even be able to find any sort of job. It really gets you depressed and frustrated since we may not even get jobs when graduating from a University/College. Hopefully many from this generation will be able to find a good sustaining job to last them if not well I suppose the next generation will have to compete with us.

"What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong represents my love for nature and the world.

This week my blog is about North Korea and how their threats aren't anything important. Many questions pop up into mind when you think about North Korea and their threats for instance images like a fat Kim Jong Un whining about how it's not fair and how he'll nuke both America and South Korea with his Nukes. Or you could imagine an oppressed and hungry people being forced to act as if they actually care about their leader. It's just disgusting how North Korea's so called leader can stuff his fat little face while watching his people starve to death right before his eyes, and if they say something bad about the government or the leader they are immediately killed or sent to a work camp. Now that we basically understand North Korea  lets go deeper into their so called threat. Apparently North Korea randomly stated that it's going to nuke South Korea as well as America for reasons that are very ominous. It honestly seems that North Korea is trying to make it's self look bigger than it actually is. In reality North Korea is a country that relies on other county's donated supplies in order to survive. Since North Korea's a country that has a hard time growing it's own resources so they have to rely on others supplies but North Korea uses these supplies to support and feed their army instead of their people. Which causes the people even more problems since they have to work even harder in order to survive and feed their families. Now things are going to be even worse since the UN has cut off all supplies to North Korea due to them cutting off all ties with South Korea and America which in the end resulted in the UN ending all aid to North Korea. This is causing even more grief to to the people in North Korea considering that they barely get any sort of income or food. So North Korea is saying that if they start sending aid again then they will be willing to open up negotiations which we all know is a lie and that North Korea will still continue to supply there army and continue with their nuclear program, Of course the UN isn't stupid enough just to continue sending supplies on a mere hunch that North Korea might give up on the idea of starting a nuclear war and stop continuing their nuclear program. To be honest as a Canadian a minor concern I have is what if North Korea misses America and hits Canada instead. So i'm hoping that North Korea's missile lunch back fires instead and hits them. One other question that I have  is if war does break out and South Korea comes out the winner what will happen to North Korea? Will North Korea be consumed by South Korea and end up as a united democratic Korea? Or will North Korea still be a self governing country that will be aided by South Korea and America to ensure that it becomes a democratic country? These are my many questions and point of views on the talked about North Korea, so if you have any ideas or  comments please go ahead and comment and that i

Soul Antagonist

When a man faces fear his soul, body and mind is tested. What he was born to seek, what he was born to achieve.  His true nature and who he is will become clear. Can he cope with that fear? Or will fear overtake him?

My name is Kim Park, I am 14. I reside from North Korea. Specifically in a city named Sinpo in the province of South Hamgyong. Living in North Korea I feel as if I’m a senseless sheep I live in a society that is blinded by truth. Every day at school were taught that our leader Kim Jong Un is a great person, almost as if he’s some sort of demi god.

Even from a young age I could tell he was nothing but evil. My peers were brainwashed into thinking he was some god a savior. The things my teachers teach me in class I don’t even know whether to believe them or not. My peers are brainwashed and even my parents. This society is driven by fear. Talk bad about our government slip up on a word; say the wrong thing and you’ll suffer severe consequences.

Near the end of the semester there was a code red at my school. Apparently two people came into the school with guns and took 1 student from each class. In my classroom all the students were shaking and trembling violently with fear. My peers couldn’t even keep their composure they were shaking, some even puked. As myself my heart started beating almost as if I just ran a mile, I was breathing fast and my body was tensing up. My hands were shaking. All I thought about was my family and thoughts about death. To stop the shaking and to calm myself down I bite my arm as hard as I could until there was blood.

At the time we heard multiple gunshots in the hallways. As one of them approached our classroom he asked for a volunteer, someone to be taken as hostage. The perpetrator was wearing a black ski mask, black pants and a trench coat. He had two pistols. His body was covered in blood; the scent of death was radiating from his body. My teacher was instantly executed in front of us. Everyone in the classroom was screaming it was complete chaos, students were screaming at the sight of fresh blood. He asked one more time for a volunteer and that was when I courageously raised my hand.

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. I knew by raising my hand I would save another students life and that’s all the reason I needed. As I walked out of the classroom with a smile on my face, I was even laughing quite a bit, many students thought I was crazy but in my mind I was going to be free. This was my chance to be free from this society free from this life I didn’t want to live. Free from this curse that I was trapped in. It’s like I was a bird stuck in a cage or there was no other way of getting out from it other than death. I walked out of the classroom with a blindfold on and handcuffs behind my back.

I was on my knees in the school’s gymnasium aligned up with 9 other students. In the end I was nothing more than a senseless sheep living in a society full of lies. The blindfold was taken off. I took one more glimpse of the sky through the windows above me. The sunlight shun on my skin and I looked at my other peers and told them “we are free.” After I said felt the cold steel of the barrel placed up against the back of my head and I looked down in my last moments I thought of my parents, my friends, the things I never got to do in my life. Shortly afterwards I was shot. This was the end to the beginning of my new life.
